Maeve’s Faves
Maeve’s Faves are the ones who showed up when the world fell apart. They are the hands that held us, the voices that steadied us, and the hearts that made sure Maeve’s light never dimmed.
Some are family. Some are friends. Some were strangers who became angels in their own way. And some - like Maeve’s mom & dad - carried her love with every broken, beautiful step forward.
These are the souls Maeve would have chosen. These are her favorites — and ours.
There was a moment in the quiet after Maeve's birth, when the world felt unbearably still. And in that silence, a nonprofit we’d never met before reached out with care, tenderness, and understanding. They showed up when we didn’t know what we needed. They wrapped us in comfort when everything else had fallen away.
Their support reminded us we weren’t alone — that Maeve’s life mattered & our grief had a place to be held. What they gave us was more than a package or a resource. It was proof that love continues, even in the most broken moments.
They showed us what it means to care. And now, through the Maeve Marie Foundation, we hope to do the same.
The bear the Oaklyn Foundation gave us, weighing the same Maeve did when she was born
Our families
When the world broke open, you were there. You stood in the wreckage with us — hands steady, hearts wide, carrying pieces of our shattered world when we couldn’t lift them ourselves.
You wept when we wept. You spoke her name when it hurt. You loved Maeve like she was your own, and in doing so, you helped us survive what felt unsurvivable.
You carried her light with us & you still do.
Maeve’s story shines brighter because of you.
I don’t have a photo of all of us together so when I do, I’ll update this photo
Dr. Kristin Hermanson
In the darkest, most unimaginable moments, Dr. Hermanson was a literal angel to us. She went above and beyond, offering more than just her medical expertise — a compassion that felt like a lifeline when we didn’t know how to keep going.
She went out of her way, showing up not just as a doctor, but as a true source of light in our darkest days. Every step, every word, every act of kindness will forever be etched in our hearts.
For this, we are forever grateful. Maeve’s story shines brighter because of you, and your unwavering kindness will always be part of her memory.
To the Other Hearts Who Held Us —
There are no words big enough to hold the weight of our gratitude. When we lost Maeve, our world stopped — but yours didn’t. And still, you showed up.
You brought meals, sent messages, sat in silence with us. You honored Maeve’s name when we needed to hear it most. You carried us when we could barely stand. You reminded us that love doesn’t end, even when life does.
In the darkest season of our lives, your kindness became a light. Your presence was a comfort, your compassion a steady hand on our backs. Whether you knew us personally or simply stood with us in our grief, you helped us feel Maeve’s impact — and our own hearts — still beating.
Thank you for loving us through the unimaginable. We will never forget it.
With all our hearts,
Maeve’s family
