After realizing Maeve hadn’t moved in a while, we went in to get checked. When the first triage nurse couldn’t find a heartbeat, they brought in an ultrasound machine — and confirmed that Maeve no longer had one. In that moment, our world completely shattered. We had a perfect pregnancy, with no concerns whatsoever. And now we were being told our baby was gone.

Two days later, I gave birth to our daughter. It wasn’t until then that we learned the cause — a cord accident.

Maeve Marie was born still at 11:36 p.m. on July 30th, 2022. She was 8 pounds 2 ounces & 20 inches long — our big girl.

We held her & studied every inch of her face. We kissed her cheeks, counted her fingers and toes, whispered how much we loved her. She was perfect.

Leaving the hospital without her was the hardest thing we’ve ever done. But we knew we couldn’t let her story end there.

The Maeve Marie Foundation was born from our love for her — a way to carry her light forward by supporting other families facing the unimaginable. Every care package we send, every message we share, is because Maeve existed… and she always will.
